After checking out whether or not Monopoly Plus has the beans to go up against super-slot Monopoly Here and Now, we decided to test it out against another new school slot.

Wild Hunter is a very interesting game that allows you to lock the wild symbols you hit in place on the reels. We had a lot of fun finding out if this new school slot has the same depth and intrigue as Monopoly Plus.

Our favourite new titles is Wild Hunter, which is themed around a game safari in the Serengeti. The name is quite appropriate too, as you’ll find out in a minute, but we wondered how this game compares to the new Monopoly slot – Monopoly Plus.

At first glance Wild Hunter appears to be a standard five reel style slot game. It plays across twenty pay-lines and has some great graphics and sonics. The fun starts when you understand how the wild symbols operate in this game.

When you stop a wild in on the reels, you have the option to lock it in place for an increase in stake amount. As you’d expect this greatly adds to you chances of hitting a win on subsequent spins

Because of the locked wild feature, it’s quite hard to actually hit the bonus scatters required to take you into the game’s free spin round. We found that we were locking the wilds in on every spin, increasing our winnings and increasing our spin cost to the point where the machine just stagnated.

It made a few quid on one spin, then lost it on the next. It was a bit of a strange experience.

When you compare this game to Monopoly Plus they’re very different animals. However, even though Wild Hunter’s gimmick is a good one, when stretched to the extremes it’s a little boring.
